I went looking for what is really suppose to be in tamales.. I found a great recipes and its suppose to have pork roast and chicken no pig snouts was mention....
You have now found my favorite mexican food. I would rather eat Tamales than a lot of "American" foods. We go to a local market called King Lion. It is Mexican owned and operated. There are very few folks there who speak English. I can get the best Tamales there, Libby makes a trip to this store about every two weeks and she always brings me a half dozen. Oh, by the way. I don't ask what's in them and they never volunteer the ingredients. They have a "don't ask don't tell" policy there. Regards, Bill.
I used to work at a local apple orchard every autumn. One of my favorite parts of this was that one or another of the Mexican migrant ladies could be pursuaded to make tamales to sell us. Hmmm, it's apple season now: I wonder if there's anyone there this year who would sell tamales for $7 or $8 a dozen?
