nichols cage jay-z diddy all pledge 1 million

Jay-Z and Diddy have pledged $1 million to the American Red Cross to help victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The two decided to make a joint donation in hopes of inspiring others, to do what they can to help those in need.

Jay-Z told the media, “This is our community, when I turn on CNN I see a lot of black people on the streets. I know it’s other people too, but those projects have been hit hard.”

Diddy agrees. “We are all descendants from each other’s families. When you hear black people say ‘brothers’ and sisters,’ it’s really true. These are all people that I know I’m related to somehow, some way – the human race family.”

Jay-Z even went as far as to put in calls to NBA star LeBron James and rapper Kanye West asking them to make donations.

Just yesterday, Celine Dion and the partners of her Las Vegas show, pledged a $1 million donation to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Even Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage, who has a home in New Orleans donated $1 million to the American Red Cross for hurricane relief efforts for ravaged New Orleans.

Please do what you can to help these people out, if you can not afford to donate anything there is always canned goods, maybe you can go through some of those old clothes that you have had hanging in the closet for ages. We all have to do our parts.

If you would like to make a donation please visit http://www.redcross.org this is the official American Red Cross website.
